I learned this one when I was around 14 having to come up with something to eat from what was at the house.Over the years I have cooked it many ways. The only ingriedients that have remained constant are the pork and beans, molasses and the bacon.
Cut up a lb. of bacon into squares.
Cook and drain grease.Set aside the bacon.
Dice about a 1/2 cup onions and cook them in the bacon grease that's left in the skillet till they start to become translucent. this is optional.
Add a can of pork and beans
Add about 2 tbsps of molasses,1 tbsp of brown sugar and 2 tbsps of BarBQ sauce. And the cooked bacon.
Cook till you have it at the desired consistancy.I like it thick.
You can add ham, leftover steak or BarBQ'ed pork sliced thinly and any other seasoning you deem needed.
cheap,quick and easy
my son named it Jeff's ranch surprise and it's one of his favorite meals
I just think it's stovetop baked beans and after 40 years I don't agree.
