As summer is approaching, I really don't like to run the oven in my home. It just heats the place up too much. I don't tend to bake cakes, pies, or pastries. I will make pizza, oven-roasted vegetables, and the occasional casserole or loaf of bread.

I'm thinking of using an enclosed porch-like room as a kind of summer kitchen. I'm intrigued by the idea of a small, countertop oven. There seem to be some countertop combination microwave / convection ovens, and I saw a rotisserie / convection oven by Delonghi at Sams. Are any of these any good? (I'm OK with the smaller capacity.)

Delonghi's are great. I have one for years and then my wife made me donate to goodwill because it was ugly.

We bought a combo convection, broiler, toaster oven at BJ’s about 2 months ago and it’s ok. I use it for baked potatoes and other small stuff like heating up a slice of pizza. I think it was $100 .

When we installed our kitchen, our goal was efficiency (minus my vintage O'Keefe & Merritt stove/oven---well, at least THAT was paid for already!)
We decided on the not-cheap DACOR convection/microwave. However, knock on wood, we've been extremely pleased with all its features. The convection in my opinion is key and adds no heat to our kitchen. Plus, the DACOR brand is the conventional standard size of today's microwave ovens and it fits in a shelf above our counters. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!
(Hope this helps)
