The last few weeks I have been working on my boat trying to get it ready for the summer. I Have been sanding the deck, repainting the hull, polishing the hardware. And it got me thinking who else is into boats.
This is my boat here Sorry about the lighting the shots were taken in my garage and it has very pore lighting. It is a 1947 Burch Craft Racing boat that my father restored for me.

Lol thanks. Brandon when I get done Ill let you know and we can go take her out for the day. She will do just under 80mph but I warn you most of the time she is out of the water flying through the air.
boating was part of my youth. we lived on a little lake in michigan. many fond memories. 80 mph in a boat is FLYIN!
beautiful boat by the way.

Yes 80mph is crazy fast. Easiest way to explain it is imagine a stone getting skipped across with water. Now thing of that same stone with a bottle rocket taped onto it. The sponsons (little wings on the side) help it skip on top of the water instead of sit in the water but this also makes it have 2 HUGE rooster tails behind it. Its really fun when I fly right next to hte 520 floating bridge passing cars on the freeway and watching there faces.
VHO: What type of boats did you have growing up?

You forgot the part where you hit the speed boat wake went flying 20ft in the air and then nose dove it underwater and had to bail it out.

Lol Yea... I was hoping to leave that story out... LoL its always scary when you time the wakes wrong and you go for a dive instead of skip the wake.

There isn't any water around here. I like Pirates of Caribbean though, that's about as close as I've been to a boat.

That is very nice. I love all that wood!
Don't get to sail much any more. But my uncle has the Sirena, a 42" sail boat that is pretty sweet. He does some local (socal) races as well.

On a boat that size that could be your house.

I have been thinking about building myself a puddle duck racer (http://www.pdracer.com/) one of these days. Just got to find a free weekend and someone crazy enough to do it with me. So far, its the free weekend part thats been holding me back.
