This knife is from the same maker of the Dojo Blue steel line.
Just picked it up today, nice little knife, at 190mm it is a tad small for most of my gyuto work, but I think it will fill a gap between my petty and my 240mm gyuto's nicely. Nicely finished blade, smooth rounded spine and heel edges. Normally I have to spend a few minutes sanding down offending areas to get them how I like them, but this one was good out of the box. The buffalo horn bolster was actually black plastic, and slightly lower than the rest of the handle. I like the handle, a beefy, oval shaped with a glossy, seemingly water resistant finish. Very nice factory edge, better than most I have encountered, but I still tuned it up with my new Shapton 15000. I will estimate the hardness as low to mid 60's. Very, very thin at the edge, glided through a ripe tomatoe extremely nicely. If you are looking for a smaller gyuto for smaller jobs, this might be the one. Here is the description from Daniel O'Malley.

Nice little knife. Looks like an onion dicing machine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I was thinking, shallots & garlic, but should turn onions into sand sized dice as well. Now to think of a dish that would require lots of micro dicing...

I got one about 3 months ago, my wife loves it. It seems to be a terrific buy, very comfortable and easy to manuever. I'm planning on purchasing the other models in this line.

Nice knife Lee. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was checking this line out myself the other day but I didn't remember reading anything about them anywhere. Could be I missed a review or I simply forgot. Whatever the case may be I was going to post about them and ask for some opinions. Looks like I just got some. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I checked those out yesterday while making another purchase. Great little knives. They could charge more for them. Make great gifts.

So, if you could get this knife OR the Watanabe kurouchi Santoku for $20 more, which would you get?

I've got a Watanabe Santoku and I wouldn't trade it for the other knife and $$. My Watanabe is a real sweetie and a joy to use in the kitchen - I just wish I had more time with her these days....
