Wait, that knife is listed as 4900 euros?!?! You poor Europeans. (That's $6838.93 in USD)
For that price, there better be a virtual tour of that knife so you can see it at all angles. :) (I wish there was a choil shot as right now, it looks like a left handed single-bevel kiritsuke to me) At least it comes with a saya.
Never heard of Nesmuk before, but it looks like Nesmuk uses a patented Stainless Steel blend (what's a high niobium content mean for the metallurgy men here?).
Makes the $900 Doi yanagis at Korin look like a down-right bargain (which they really are for a historical treasure... I'm just not much of a history buff) :D
Cheers, Herb

If you want a hand made "nesmuk" try Daniel Koster. I don't have one, but he has a very good reputation.

There are some cheaper ones here:

It appears that I may have mispoken..Koster's knives are called "Nessmuk" and I assumed that they were at least close. The blade configuation is obviously quite different. Also, the link above displays "Nesmuk" cutting boards. What's with that? Is it a type of knife or products from a particular region...or what?

niobium is hypoallergenic ( just incase you become a knife sheath)
is also very corrosion resistant

There are cheaper versions available.knives, cuttingboards,... (http://www.messerkontor.eu/index.php?manufacturers_id=72&XTC)
But you can get very expensive cuttingboards and knifeblocks.
What I find strange is that these cheaper knives are hollow ground.

As soon as I saw it I realized - I have to have one. Just need to hop over to the bank real quick and take out a new mortgage on the farm first... ;)

From the movie in the "press" section of their site, it is a symmetric bevel, and both faces are hollow ground.
They have a cheaper line (Janus), and a diamond coated one (Diamor, also cheaper), non damascus, with the same design...
What I find interesting is that high-end german knifemakers are going japanese style....
