Thanks guys! It's a lot of fun to build these kits up when the blade is fully finished before I get it. The fun part for me is making up the handles, not grinding and polishing steel for hours! I did my first few kits with hacksaw, files, drill press, then added in a dremel, 1x30 HF belt sander, then rubber sanding mandrels. It's a nice project to fill up a night or two after work with the hand tools and it's fun playing with different handle shapes and materials. You guys should really try doing some of the kits yourself! I think you will be surprised at how nice they turn out when you take your time! Jantz even has some ZDP-189 blades!!

Those blades and Kit knives from Jantz Supply are good.
I refer other Hobbyist, Handle makers to them for finish blades at a good price.

Yeah, I really like their new pattern 36 in D2 and S30V, makes a great small hunting knife. The KnifeKits.com Modern Skinner is also a great blade as well for not a ton of money. The SG4 series is nice, but just too thick overall for me. I've been getting Damascus blades from Two Finger Knife in Idaho as well, nice stuff so far!
