Advice on Ice Bear waterstones
Hi folks,
I am trying to get a "standard" sharpening process under way, in order to simplify it and also to teach my wife, who loves sharp knives.
My Question: Are the Ice Bear stones the same grit size as King stones?
I have an Ice Bear 1000 and a 4000. This last stone is a lovely wide stone, but I cannot find data on the grit sizes for the Ice Bear stones.
I am hoping that the King stones & Ice Bear are the same grit sizes.
Does anyone know what the grit size (microns) of the Ice Bear stones is? Any info will be most helpful.
Thanks Guys
Doug

Ice Bear ARE King stones.
They're relabelled by one of the exporter distributors based in Hyogo, and are, according to who I've spoked to, the very same stones.
(And the folks I've spoken to are 'quite' familiar with both King and the distributor.)

Thanks Schtoo. I had heard that before somewhere, but the King stones I own are a very different colour to the Ice Bear stones I own, (the Ice Bear 1000 is dark green) so I was never quite sure if this information was correct.
So, thanks for confirming that. I do appreciate your advice.
