And? The part of the can he cuts isn't that heavy of a gauge of Aluminum.
Especially for the thickness of that blade steel.
    Thanks for posting it.

Mad Rookie, What do you think is so astonishing about this?
It's a working knife of 6/9 mm spine? with a proper heat treat, This is normal for any well made knife and heat treat with a professional edge?
Also I know you guys in the UK are in a time warp about calling a can, A tin.

Food can's have been mostly steel with a Tin coating for the last 100 years or so? What he cut was a Aluminum Soda can.

It will be a week or two since I have to get my batch of knives back from heat treat. And finish a knife that is of equal strength as the knife by Farid. Exactly how thick is the steel in that knife etc? And is the edge Flat or Convex?

If you want to dare me, you need to say what the test is?
Not just dare me? Just tell me and it's no problem!

    OK? LOL LOL

Actually, it was I who did that clip.

It was a test to satisfy my own personal curiosity to see how the edge would perform after cutting some aluminum.

I just thought to share it as I did it.

I am no knife maker, so forgive my ignorance in this regard.

    Sorry.

MadRookie, CPM steels are excellent, I looked at a spec sheet for this one yesterday. it comes in as a semi-stainless that would make a great knife.

You should contact Farid and send them your clip, They may want to use it??

Thx for the advice - have done so.

I believe it was watched by Farid & members at a "pub" meet in London.
