on the 3rd and 4th pics it looks like the profile is very flat, but less so on the 5th one...
I like the general look of the blade. If it was up to me, Id have the tip a tad lower, but that's just me.
what was the original profile?

Those tips come high real high but I have discovered that going on like it I ground the spine down a little on this one I didn't want to go very far and this phone camera still ain't the best so don't judge to much by it, it came with absolutely no edge at all just a thick square edge, so for stones and a cheap harbor freight grinder I think I did pretty good. According to the 45x microscope their is hardly any recognizable scratch pattern which is what I wanted the edge is even and so is the spine compared to what it came in as no handle and a thicker piece of steel. I'll take that none every day weather the camera makes it look flat or not. Peace jmbullman. And on the third and forth shot I was standing about 10 feet back to fit it in the camera lens I don't have a lot of options with this camera but the firs and second shot should show it not really flat just a nice edge. That's basically what I was wanting to show. The tips come very high on these and would require a lot of work to lower it I had a person want his to look like a remedy tip straight across like the French and I did it it took 4 trizak belts to grind it down to the profile and tip he wanted after that I told myself next time he can just by his own legend or ultimatum, I lost my butt and nerve doing that on. Trizact belts work best for finish grinding. if you are having to remove a lot of metal, get Norton Ceramic belts.
They have newer belt called,
Ceramic Alumina Plus Y-wt in 2 x 72" Maybe other sizes? I just tested these this week for Scott at www.tru-grit.com/

They are a excellent low cost Ceramic. There have been problems lately with the backing on the Norton Blaze plus
Ceramic depositing crud on the flat Platen & Wheels.

These new Alumina plus cost less than half of the Blaze and cut for about 70% of the life of a Blaze.
