I just bought some pots with panhandles and my impression is, the handle is as helpful as the shapes which are unusual at home but common in restaurants.

As you can see, I use this shape quite often in my cooking at home. It's true that there are good and bad handles. I like the shape and height of my cast iron ones, but they don't stay very cool.

bar - post a wide angle pic of the kitchen...I'm in a 1 year new home, and want to go with rhe pot rack, but I'm looking for ideas that work..
Saw your referance to Bocuse...I upgraded to copper via e-bay last year (amazing-people decorate w/ 3mm tinned), and I picked up a 4 piece set of Bocuse SS lined, and cannot find any history or referance to tha line ever being offered
Oh- -I like the splayed...

I just got a single rail rack from Enclume that spans 93 inches across one counter, and have another over the island with tools and table service copper (gratins, etc.). Love it! I made a homemade pot rack that I'm very pleased with, I even moved it with me. There is a pic in this old post. Copper pans are just gorgeous, I need to upgrade everything to copper.

I'm holding on to a simple homemade idea I saw on FNtv...from Bruce Aidelles kitchen. a few large blocks of 4x10's (stained or painted) supporting simple copper (plumbing) pipe.
