    Size: 22x11cm
    Weight: 400-450g

    That's the standard I prefer.

I read that thread you linked and searched around on Google for a CCK cleaver... couldn't find anything! I'm assuming CCK stands for something that isn't usually abbreviated? If so, could I get the full name, or could you link me to some place that sells these cleavers? I'd like to try out a cleaver if I can pick up a decent one for $30-$40.

    Thanks!

thanks for the quick answers everybody i figured i'd go right to the top and ask watanabe how much a cleaver would cost 22 by 11 cm between 400 and 450 grams with a kuro uchi finish and a burnt chestnut handle would be 300 dollars doesn't that seema little steep i thought it would be around 250 or even 220 maybe what do you guys think thanks for all thew advice

It's because of the special handle. With the other knives he can just slap on one of the traditional handles he buys by the dozen. A cleaver uses a different handle and so if you get something other than what he has lying around it will cost a lot extra.
